About FileKit
FileKit is a collection of free PDF, image, text, QR, and form tools that run entirely in your browser. There's no sign-up, no account, and — this is the important part — your files never leave your device.
Most tools like this work by uploading your file to a server, processing it there, and sending the result back. That means your documents — tax forms, contracts, photos, whatever you're working with — pass through someone else's infrastructure. FileKit doesn't do that. Every merge, resize, conversion, or edit happens locally using your browser's own JavaScript engine. We never see your files, because they're never sent to us.
Why free?
FileKit is supported by non-intrusive advertising rather than subscriptions, paywalls, or artificial usage limits. There's no premium tier that unlocks features — every tool is fully functional for everyone.
How it works
FileKit is built with modern browser APIs — the Canvas API for images, WebAssembly-powered libraries for PDF manipulation and text recognition, and on-device machine learning for things like background removal. None of these require a server round-trip, which is also why FileKit tends to feel fast: there's no upload to wait for.
